The Poodle and Dog Blog

I have gotten more and more tired of the traffic generating websites, so I decided to start my own traffic generator. Might not bring any traffic to me, but maybe it will bring some to my favorite blogs. So every so often I will write a post about my favorite blogs.

Please go visit: The Poodle and Dog Blog

Jan has a really nice blog. And I enjoy going there often to read her posts. She has some very informative, interesting, funny and heart warming posts. I am sure that if you care for dogs just a little bit, you will add her blog to your favorites.

This is what Jan writes on her ‘About’ page:

You might almost think from all the headlines of maulings and cruelty that dogs and humans were enemies rather than best friends.

But the lives of humans and animals have been intertwined since we first invited their ancestors, the wolves, into our caves.

Today only a few lucky dogs get to do what they were bred to do for centuries: hunt, track, retrieve, guard, herd, pull sleds, and dig out rodents.

Dogs are so eager to please that with training today they have become policemen, medics, guides, teachers, babysitters, service dogs, contraband sniffers, discerning watchdogs, space pioneers, companions and entertainers.

This blog is to celebrate the remarkable, the ordinary, and the very funny dogs that share our world.

My name is Jan. I’m a former college English teacher and writer. I live in northern California with assorted people and animals.

Go visit Jan’s blog. Read her posts. Leave a comment or two. Make a great friend :)

Blogrolling

Just took a little time and updated my ‘blogrolling thingy’. I have added several new ones.
There are so many great blogs out there so how do I choose who to add to my ‘blogrolling thingy’? That is actually easy to answer. If I find a blog to be funny, interesting, informative, or if the content seems intelligent, then I am likely to add it. Of course I can not add every single blog, so I do have to be a bit selective. I hate that, but I dont want my list of favorites to get too long.
How do I find all these blogs? That is not too hard to answer either. A lot of people have stopped by my blog and have been kind enough to read some of my posts and left comments. Including a link back to their own blogs. And when I read a comment that I like, I usually take a trip to visit the blog. If I like what I see and think I will likely visit again I add the blog to my blogroll. Other blogs I have simply stumpled upon just by following links around the blog world. And some I have seen at the 100 Top Blog site.

If you would like to check out some of the links I have added to the blogroll, then just look to right side of my blog, and scroll down till you get to the blogroll :) Lots of great blogs, with lots of different subjects :)
Have fun!

This and That

I think I have the worst cold I have had in years. Just sucks. Hopefully it will be gone soon.

Good news: The meds I am taking to lower my blood pressure is working. Woohoo! My blood pressure has gone from 155/98 (2 weeks ago) to an average of 112/76. There are still times when the BP goes up a bit, but I am counting on the average.

Enough health talk.

I am starting to think I will be leaving BlogExplosion. I am so tired of the rude comments the people that surf through from BE are leaving here at my blog. Luckily I am the owner of the blog so I decide which comments to save and which to delete. One comment was in reply to my post about my Mother-in-Law. The person commenting wrote something like: Stop behaving like a 6yo. Dont come on here and backstab. Thats pathetic. Grow up!
First of all, this person obviously have no idea what she is talking about. She does not know the whole story. Second, this is my blog! I write about what and whom I want to. None of anyones damn business. If you dont like it, then go find someone else to pester.
Just really dislike people with that ‘Holier than Thou’ attitude. For me, this blog is a venue to get some of the frustration out. Dont want to read about it, then go somewhere else!
Another person left a comment somewhat like this: A good way to get traffic to your site is to be rude. You F****** Racist! This person clearly thought that by leaving such comment I would go to his/her blog. No I didnt bother clicking on the link. And the comment was deleted.
If I had wanted to be treated like this when joining BE, I might as well have just asked my family-in-law to read my blog instead!

I have met a lot of really nice people through BE as well. I am planning on adding all their blogs to my blogroller, and when that is done, I will most likely leave BE.

If you havent already, why not join my Top Blogs list?

House with a View

Filed under: All, Pic of the Day

And this is the view we had today. At first it was pretty scary, but then we came to find out that it was in fact a controlled burn. It is so dry here and the fire danger is extreme, so the fire department opted to burn the grass land, so should there be a ‘real’ fire, the houses would be somewhat protected. They burned all the grass land between my house and the mesa that you might be able to see in the background.

The Five Year Old Snitch

So this past weekend we went to Phoenix. Saturday we went to some friends to visit, and we spent the night there. Sunday DH and DS went to visit the in-laws. I stayed behind at our friends house. I was not about to ruin a perfectly nice weekend by going to the in-laws. We had tried to explain to our DS that if Nana and Popo were to ask Mommy was at home and that DH and DS were just in Phoenix for the day. Well, they go there and of course the in-laws ask and before DH could say any thing our 5 year old snitch (DS) said : Mommy is at T and D’s house. LOL oops LOL. You cant get mad at him for being honest. Just sometimes you wish he would be less honest LOL. Of course they asked DH why I had not come to visit them, and what could he say but the truth. I didnt feel like going. Mother-in-law of course could not understand at all why not. She even said that she knows that I dont like her, but she doesnt understand why not.
And it has not even been 2 weeks since we explained to her why I was pissed at her (well one of the reasons). We went for a quick visit a couple of weeks ago, and the entire time we were there she totally got on my nerves. Every time I told DS no she over ruled it by saying yes. He is my son I deside what he is allowed to do. Then she asked about what the dr’s had said on my last visit to the neurologist. We told her that I had been diagnosed with FMS. Her reply: Oh that is that thing they call it when a person is a hypocodriac. So you are probably just a hypocondriac. This comes from a person who calls around to family and friends asking for prayers everytime someone as much as sneezes. It didnt really tick me off as much to begin with as the whole : Sure kiddo you can jump on the furniture, dont worry that your mommy said no.
Two days later she calls DH to ask why I was upset with her. DH explained to her that we are trying to make a good kid out of DS and it doesnt help that she totally disregard us when we say no. She hadnt even registered that. She was worry that I was upset with her cause she had called me a hypocondriac. Geez, what makes her think that LOL.
Anyway now they are upset with me because I dont like to visit them. I always manage to come out as the bad person. Go figure!
